One ‘Fat Man’ that shook Japan!

On the eve of 75th anniversary of “Fat Man” kissing the Japanese city of Nagasaki, I sat staring at the sky from my window. Somewhat similar to a kid staring at his sky of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. (S)he might have admired the beauty of the sky yet terrified of meeting the fate of Hiroshima just 3 days ago.

Fat man — the bomb that romanced with Nagasaki

…and boom!

Something similar might have happened to another young boy planning his time ‘post COVID’ in the charming city of Beirut a few days ago. Little did he expect a blast!

I read about black rain for the first time in 2014 in the first year of college. I discovered it through a Reddit post. Later, even exchanged a few texts with the creator of the post who was working for the cause of ‘hibakusha’-s (another term I heard for the first time)

Sitting here on the periphery of Delhi, I can not help but think how lucky I am! I might have been in Mumbai or somewhere in Europe owing up to a few opportunities that crossed my path in the last two years. Indian western coast is traumatised by rain while the stories of COVID19 from Europe had my parents exhale a sigh of relief. Not because they are insensitive but their son is safe!

All of this circles back to one thing: rest everything assured, it is not a level field. We are just plain lucky to be where we are that allowed us space to do the things that we do!

Just lucky.

Post note: If you are in geography with moderate weather, could survive lockdown without having to work for money, and have a family that steals your regular day struggle and do not have to see a doctor regularly, invest your time right.
